What is Level-Up Expedite?

Level-Up Expedite is a comprehensive advanced training course that takes pilots from their PPL and ATPL theory through to a frozen ATPL (Commercial Pilot's Licence with Multi-Engine Instrument Rating), plus APS MCC jet simulator training and Airline Assessment Preparation. It is designed for modular pilots who have already built their foundation and need the advanced training to become airline-ready.

How is this different from an integrated ATPL course?

Integrated courses start from zero flying experience. Expedite is for pilots who already hold a PPL and have passed their ATPL theory. You are not paying for training you have already completed. The licence at the end is identical - the same frozen ATPL.

What do I need before I can start Level-Up Expedite?

Accepted Answer

You need a PPL(A), ATPL(A) TK exams passed, a Night Rating, your CPL 300-mile qualifying cross-country completed, 100 hours as Pilot-in-Command, and 160 hours total time. OAT will check your logbook, review your exam results, and conduct a simulator assessment before you start.

How much does Level-Up Expedite cost?

£64,000 inc. VAT, paid as a £1,000 deposit followed by 10 monthly instalments of £6,300. This includes all landings, approaches, and Airline Assessment Preparation. Additional UK CAA Skills Test Fees (3 tests, estimated £2,500) are set by the CAA and are not included in the course fee.

Do I have to pay a large sum upfront?

No. The deposit is £1,000. The remaining fee is spread across 10 monthly instalments of £6,300 over the course duration. You are never more than one month's payment ahead of your training.

What is APS MCC?

Accepted Answer

Airline Pilot Standards Multi-Crew Cooperation. It is a course that teaches you to operate as part of a two-pilot crew on a jet flight deck. Most airlines require APS MCC before offering a type rating. Expedite includes 40 hours of APS MCC training on either the A320 or B737 jet simulator.

What is AUPRT?

Accepted Answer

Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training. It teaches you to recognise, prevent, and recover from unusual aircraft attitudes. It is a UK CAA requirement and is completed in the Super Decathlon aerobatic aircraft. You also gain tailwheel experience.

Can I choose whether to train on the A320 or B737?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your APS MCC training takes place on either the Airbus A320 CEO FTD1 or Boeing 737NG FTD1. You can discuss your preference based on which aircraft type you are targeting for your airline career.

What happens after I finish Expedite?

Accepted Answer

You will hold a frozen ATPL and have completed APS MCC. The next step is securing an airline assessment. OAT provides Airline Assessment Preparation as part of Expedite, including interview skills coaching and simulator assessment practice tailored to your target airline.

16 to 18 weeks, weather dependent. The course is delivered at Hangar 7, London Oxford Airport, with all aircraft, simulators, classrooms, and instructors in one location.
