A message from Anthony Petteford, Co-Founder & Director

The Vision

In the summer of 2025, my business partner John and I set out with a clear ambition to launch a new kind of UK airline pilot training organisation (ATO). Our aim was not simply to establish another ATO, but to create one committed to truly supporting aspiring pilots using MODULAR regulations to gain a 'frozen ATPL'. Our mission was also to 'Level Up' the pilot training experience, delivering excellent instruction, on schedule and open access to doors for airline flying careers on a par with other pilot training pathways.

Securing Our New Home — Hangar 7, London Oxford Airport

Just a few weeks after formulating our vision, we secured Hangar 7 at Oxford Airport. With its exceptional spaces and impressive views, this marked the beginning of our journey towards realising our goals.

A Remarkable Achievement — UK CAA ATO Approval

After only four months of tremendous effort and enjoyment, our outstanding team achieved UK CAA Approval as a full ATO. We are now able to offer our modular customers a portfolio of ADVANCED training courses:

- MEP CPL (DA42)

- UPRT (Super Decathlon)

- APS MCC (B737NG and A320)

Investment & Resources

Our team did not stop at gaining regulatory approvals; we have made substantial investments to properly equip our ATO. The resources we have assembled include:

A spacious, well-equipped 18,000 sqft training centre featuring:

- 4 interactive classrooms, 11 briefing rooms, 3 crew rooms

- Two type-specific Jet simulators – A320 and B737NG

- Three DA42 simulators

- FMS trainers for both jet types

- Access to a large EFIS fleet of 20 DA42 MEP aircraft and 14 DA40 SEP aircraft; a fleet size and quality of which most ATOs can only aspire.

Our aircraft are maintained to the highest standards by our next-door, sister company, Triple J Aviation Engineering, which as a prestigious Platinum Diamond Service Centre, is also UK CAA approved.

Of course, all our training resources and courses are brought to life by an exceptional team of experienced instructors whose calibre exceeds all expectations.

Pride in Achievement

I am immensely proud and delighted with what our OAT team has accomplished together. Through dogged determination and a shared mission, we have managed to resource, build, and launch, ready for training, an exceptional UK ATO in less than 5 months—a feat few can claim.

Commitment & Reliability

Our achievement is not just in speed and capacity. It is a clear demonstration to our trainees and airlines alike, that we deliver on our promises. If we commit to something, we make it happen. We avoid: setting false expectations, extravagant marketing, making omnipresent postings. We trade ethically without demands for large deposits or up-front payments. We treat our customers and staff as our extended family - to make pilot training a pleasure not a pain.

At Oxford Airline Training, what you see is what you get—WYSIWYG!
